How to make a cheeseburger omelet

This Cheeseburger Omelette is the best hearty, meat lovers breakfast! Made with leftover burger patties, onion, and your favorite melty cheese!

Cheeseburger Omelet | Kita Roberts GirlCarnivore.com

Does anyone else just crave cheeseburgers at breakfast time? Me too. And this Cheeseburger Omelette is the perfect way to incorporate cheeseburger flavors into a hearty breakfast!

You just chop up leftover cheeseburger patties, sauté them with sweet, chopped onion, and load that into a cheesy omelette! This is definitely your breakfast dreams come true…and it’s ready in just 15 minutes!

See the Web Stories for Easy Cheeseburger Omelet.

What you need to make this recipe

    • Butter – used to cook the burger patty and onion.
    • Cooked Cheeseburger Patty – any leftover burgers you have will work! If you don’t have cooked burgers, you can use ground beef, just be sure to cook and drain it.
    • Onion – dice into small pieces so you don’t
    • Eggs – you’ll use two eggs for this recipe. If you use more than that, you’ll want to adjust the seasonings and the other ingredients.
    • Water – you can also use milk for an even creamier texture.
    • Worcestershire Sauce – whisked with eggs to add an extra kick of flavor.
    • Salt and Pepper – I keep it simple with salt and pepper but any seasonings will work.
    • Shredded Cheese – shred your own cheese for the best texture. Any cheese will work!
    • Ketchup or 1000 Island Dressing – either are delicious to serve with the omelet!

How to make a cheeseburger omelette

First, heat a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter, then add the onion and cook for 3-4 minutes. Add the burger patty and break it up into small pieces. Remove the beef and onion and set aside.

In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, water, and Worcestershire sauce until frothy. Pour the egg mixture into the skillet and cook until the edges are set. Cook until the bottom is set but the top is still slightly wet.

Add the burger and onion to the center of the omelet, fold it over, and sprinkle with cheese. Cover and let the cheese melt.

Turn off the heat, then season with salt and pepper. Serve with ketchup or 1000 island dressing and other cheeseburger fixings!

Do you add milk to an omelette?

You can if you want, but it’s not necessary. I whisk water with the eggs to thin them out slightly and it works out great. If you prefer to use milk, feel free!

    Can you use another meat?

Totally! You can make an omelet using any leftover cooked meat like shredded chicken, turkey, ham, bacon, you name it!

If you don’t have any leftover cooked burger patties, you can use ground beef. Just cook it with the onion, then drain the excess grease before you make the omelet.

    Can you add veggies?

Absolutely! You can add whatever veggies you like, just make sure you cook them along with the onion and hamburger patty first.

Make sure you don’t overload your omelet with fillings or it will break.

    Serving suggestions

Serve this cheeseburger omelet topped with 1000 Island Dressing, ketchup, and more of the best cheeseburger toppings!

Round out your meal with crispy bacon, buttered toast, and any of your favorite breakfast recipes!

What else can you make with leftover hamburger patties?

I love finding other creative ways to use leftovers—so much so that I have an entire recipe category compiling my recipes that utilize leftovers.

Here are a few different ways I love to use leftover burger patties:

    • In fried rice
    • On grilled cheese
    • On pizza
    • In power bowls
    • As a salad topping
    • In mac and cheese
    • Over nachos
    • In stuffed peppers

    How to store

Cooked omelets are definitely best right away and I doubt you’ll have leftovers. However, if you do have leftovers, they can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.

To reheat, warm on low on the stove with a little oil until heated through.

    Easy Cheeseburger Omelette

This omelet is perfect for using up a leftover burger patty for a totally delicious brunch recipe! Top it with traditional cheeseburger fixings and enjoy!
    Course: Breakfast
    Cuisine: American
    Author: Kita Roberts
    Prep Time5 mins
    Cook Time10 mins
    Total Time15 mins
    Servings: 1 servings
    Calories: 472kcal

    Ingredients

    • 1 tbs butter
    • 1 leftover cooked cheeseburger patty
    • ⅛ small onion diced
    • 2 eggs
    • 1 teas water
    • 1 teas Worcestershire sauce
    • salt and pepper
    • ⅛ cup shredded cheese
    • Ketchup or 1000 island dressing

    Instructions

    • Heat a small skillet over medium heat. Add the butter and swirl to coat pan. Add the onion and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
    • Add the cheeseburger patty and break up into small pieces. Cook for two or three minutes longer to get everything heated through and onion is softened.
    • Remove the beef and onion from the pan and set aside.
    • In a small bowl whisk together the eggs, water, and Worcestershire sauce until a bit frothy.
    • Pour the egg mixture into the skillet. Cook until edges are just set, occasionally pulling in from the edges with a small spatula, sweeping in towards the center.
    • Swirl pan and repeat once or twice. Cook until the bottom is almost set but the top is still a bit wet. Add the burger and onion to the center of the omelet.
    • Get fancy and flip if you want things to possibly end badly (not saying that I'm speaking from experience or anything). Otherwise, fold over and sprinkle with cheese. Cover and let the cheese melt, about 1 minute longer.
    • Off heat, season with salt and pepper. Transfer the omelet to a serving plate.
    • Serve with ketchup or 1000 dressing and other cheeseburger fixings if desired.

    Notes

This recipe uses one leftover cooked burger patty. If you dont have one, you can use cooked ground beef as well.

I actually went to a baseball game last night, watched post-game fireworks there, then walked down the street to watch more go off over the Mississippi river. No dishes for me! But sadly no leftover burgers to make this omlet either.

Cheeseburger omelet. You are a genius. I’m going to have this even though I didn’t go anywhere for the 4th and my house is clean (well, as clean as it gets around here). Dudette came down with a 102 fever so she and I parked ourselves on my bed for the evening. Such is life.
