With skillet lasagna, you don’t have to worry about cooking the noodles ahead of time or layering everything just so. What You Need:
Skillet Lasagna Ingredients
- Onion โ Chopped
- Carrot โ Minced
- Ground Italian Sausage
- Garlic Clove โ Minced. Use pre-minced garlic if you like!
- Marinara Sauce โ Use your favorite marinara sauce or make your own! We love Roa’s in our pantry.
- Ricotta Cheese โ Use high or low fat depending on your personal preference.
- Egg
- Kosher Salt And Pepper
- Girlcarnivore Over Easy Spice Blend
- No-Boil Whole Lasagna Noodles
- Mushrooms โ Rinsed and sliced. Totally optional.
- Spinach โ Rinsed. Totally optional.
- Mozzarella โ Sliced or shredded, depending on your preference.
- Fresh Basil โ Jullienned or carefully chopped.
How to make skillet lasagna
COOK THE SAUSAGE
- Add the sausage to a large skillet, and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes. Breaking into small pieces.
- Add the chopped onion and carrot, cooking until the sausage is cooked through and the onion is softened.
- Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds longer.
- Remove from heat and transfer the sausage to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
PREHEAT THE OVEN
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
PREP THE RICOTTA
- Whisk the ricotta in a large bowl with the egg, a pinch of salt and pepper, and the GirlCarnivore Over Easy blend.
LAYER THE INGREDIENTS
- In the now empty skillet, spoon a little marinara sauce on the bottom of the skillet.
- Add a layer of the no-boil lasagna noodles.
- Add a few mushrooms and a handful of spinach over the top of the pasta.
- Dollop the ricotta over the top and spread with the back of a spoon or spatula.
- Add a hefty portion of the ground sausage mixture evenly over everything.
- Spoon marinara over the meat layer.
- Repeat the steps with the next layer of noodles until the pan is full.
- Top with a layer of marinara and place evenly over the top.
COOK THE LASAGNA
- Transfer the skillet to the oven and cook for 30 minutes, until the pasta is softened and the cheese melts.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
SERVE
- Garnish with freshly chopped basil and a sprinkle of parmesan cheese if desired before slicing to serve!
