Portrait of Abi Gunasekaran

Recipe Developer, Photographer and Videographer

Abi Gunasekaran writes recipes for the way people cook at home: practical, full of flavor and easy to pull off on a weeknight, with Indian flavors running through a lot of them. She's a big reason our lamb section reads like a world map, from rogan josh and lamb biryani to grilled lamb kofta and traditional moussaka.

She has spent seven years developing recipes, photography and video for brands including Eggland's Best, Meijer, Mahatma Rice, Garden of Life and Dole. She learned recipe development the hands-on way, in the kitchen, and studied food photography with Joanie Simon. Her own recipes live at Food Exit Recipes.

At Girl Carnivore she's also behind our butter chicken made with thighs, our tandoori chicken drumsticks, and everyday lamb cuts like grilled lamb shoulder chops with chimichurri and pan-seared lamb leg steaks.
