Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add the onions and peppers and saute for 4 minutes, or until tender. Add the pork and beef. Cook until browned. Stir in the garlic, cayenne, paprika, cumin, dry mustard and cool for 1 minute longer.
Stir in the chili sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and jalapenos. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a low simmer and cook for 20 minutes, until sauce has thickened. Season with salt and pepper as needed.
Recipe for Onion Straws
Heat the canola oil in a large pot with deep sides. Whisk the egg and milk together in a bowl. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the flour, cayenne, paprika, and garlic powder. Sprinkle a little salt and pepper in there and whisk again. Soak the onion slices in the egg milk mixture for 10 minutes.
A few at a time, drain the egg mixture from the onions and toss in the flour mixture. Fry, a few pieces at a time, until golden brown. Using a heatproof slotted spoon, remove and drain on a paper towel lined plate. Repeat until all onion slices are fried.
