Cut potatoes in half lengthwise and then cut into about ¼ inch thick fries (thicker fries will take longer to cook).
4 medium russet potatoes
In a large bowl, add the fries, avocado oil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
2 tablespoon avocado oil, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, ½ teaspoon salt, ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Toss them together until the fries are evenly coated.
Place the fries into the air fryer basket in a single layer.
Cook for 20 minutes at 390°F. Flip the fries halfway through for even cooking.
Cook the fries in batches to avoid overcrowding if needed for the most crispy French fries.
Carefully remove the fries from the Air Fryer and pour the fries onto a wire rack laid over a baking sheet.
Parmesan cheese
Immediately top with freshly grated parmesan cheese.
Optionally garnish with minced parsley and a pinch of salt and pepper if desired.
Notes
Crispness: For extra crispy fries, soak the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water with a splash of vinegar for 2-3 hours if you have the time. You can also soak them in the fridge overnight to make things easier! After soaking, dry them off with paper towels to ensure the skin becomes crispy.
Sauces: Use whatever kind of dipping sauce you like, or eat them plain! Some great dipping sauces are ranch dressing, blue cheese dressing, honey mustard, or anything else you like!
Garlic: For even more garlic flavor, use pre-minced garlic or mince the garlic cloves yourself instead of using garlic powder!
