Leftovers is a word that can make even the most peppy people roll their eyes. After a big family feast, you really only want so many days with turkey sandwiches before you need a little variety.

Being creatively inspired for 20 or so pounds of leftover anything can drain on an individual as the days go by. But, it has to be done, so get all Bubba Gump on your leftovers and start thinking of ways to eat.

  1. Literal translation of malfatti is “badly made” or “misformed”. It also is the name of a type of gnocchi in Tuscany.

  2. This is a fabulous dish! Made for dinner tonight. A couple of thoughts: you missed adding the thyme in the instructions. I looked at original recipe on foodnetwork.com and saw to add with ham. That recipe also added 3/4 cup water with the gnocchi which I did and is definitely needed! Used a little more thyme cuz I love it, fat free half and half (to pretend its healthier) and gruyere for the cheese. Next time I might increase the mushrooms and reduce the peas a bit – just personal preference. Really liked your additions of white wine and creminis, they really helped the dish. Yum!

  3. Yay I love repurposed leftover recipes! Especially ones like this where you cannot tell it’s made from leftovers.
